Team RP968 has destroyed the existing Yokohama World Time Attack outright lap record, with a commanding display of performance around the Sydney Motorsport Park Grand Prix circuit.


Barton Mawer’s time of 1:19.277 with the Porsche 968 reset the outright WTAC lap record by 0.548 seconds. That puts the team exactly 0.135 seconds away from taking the overall lap record for this circuit layout.

If Mawer can reach that marker, it will make the RP968 Porsche the quickest machine of any kind to have lapped the Grand Prix Circuit at Sydney Motorsport Park. Could it happen in the Superlap Shootout this afternoon? Stay tuned!
